Key experiences:

  • Project management
  • Relationship management
  • Experience in a University Office of Technology Transfer or experience in a large ag company working on licensing
  • Degree in science and business experience strongly preferred (Ph.D. level)
  • 2-5 years of work experience in this area

 

Role Profile:

  • Understand the Symbiota business, goals, and aspirations
    • Quickly gain an understanding of the science underpinning the company and initiate licensing deals to further commercial aspirations
    • Maintain tight connectivity with commercial to understand the future business needs
  • Network to identify and establish relationships with technology providers
    • Make contact with at least 15 organizations within 3 months of start date
    • Develop a process to assess the value to Symbiota of accessing the strain collections to ensure streamline valuations
    • Aim to get a sense of competitive activities in the licensing space
  • Excellence in transactional execution
    • Demonstrated success in previous transactions
  • Strong project management capabilities
    • Ensure the R&D touchpoints follow up and Symbiota is acting as a partner of preference
  • Relationship building and maintaining
    • Represent Symbiota to third parties, open, partnership mentality in negotiations, excellent follow up and communication
  • Communicate closely with internal functions and ensure transparency and connectivity across commercial, R&D, Finance, Legal and PD
    • Act as the single touchpoint both on the internal and external side to manage the work and communications
